Science Technician (Full-Time) - Secondary Schools | SouthwarkA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Southwark on a full-time basis (5 days per week). This is an excellent role for an experienced individual who is passionate about supporting science education and contributing to a dynamic learning environment.The RoleAs a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and practical science lessons across Key Stages 3-5. Working closely with teaching staff, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining equipment, ensuring laboratories are safe and well-organised, and assisting in the smooth running of the science department.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical lessonsEnsure all laboratory equipment is maintained, cleaned, and stored appropriatelySupport teachers and students during practical experiments when requiredMonitor and manage stock levels, ordering supplies as neededEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations at all timesContribute to the overall organisation and efficiency of the science departmentRequirementsPrevious experience working as a Science Technician in a school settingStrong knowledge across one or more scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)A relevant degree is preferredExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamA proactive and flexible approachThe SchoolThis welcoming and well-regarded secondary school offers a supportive and positive working environment, where staff are valued and encouraged to grow professionally.
