About the Role

Developing Highways Manager - Planning
 
Are you passionate about shaping communities and delivering sustainable highway infrastructure?
 
Working within the Highways & Transport team, you'll support the delivery of new developments across the county, ensuring the highway network is protected, enhanced and fit for future growth. You'll work closely with Planning Teams, developers, consultants and local stakeholders to deliver high-quality, value-driven outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing highways development control matters linked to new developments
  • Advising on S38, S278 and S106 agreements
  • Reviewing planning applications and providing technical guidance
  • Representing the Highway Authority at committees, inquiries and meetings
  • Managing budgets, contracts and developer engagement
  • Supporting asset management, economic growth and service improvement initiatives


We're looking for someone with experience in highways, transport infrastructure or development control, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

This role requires 1 day per week in the office.
