Job Description

DUTIES:                               First-Level Supervisor of software engineers responsible for planning, designing, and developing embedded software and web applications; lead the development on open source RDK middleware embedded system projects; use tools including Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Rally for software development projects; develop software using C, C++, Core Java, JavaScript and J2EE; perform CI/CD using Jenkins; develop software using Cloud Computing, Amazon Web Services, Python, and Shell for the design and development of applications, including middleware and the required cloud infrastructure; use RESTful API, SOAP API Web Services, XML and JSON; build automation using tools including Apache Maven and Apache Ant; use operating systems including Redhat, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, and Unix within a Linux environment; develop embedded systems using Cross Compilers and Toolchains; use TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS for network communication and design; develop embedded system products including Set-Top Boxes, Smart Televisions, and Broadband Gateways that use RDK open source middleware and include automation of test cases; lead  the  Software Development and Engineering team in the development of new software and applications and the support for existing applications and applications in development; lead overall delivery of RDK Core Middleware and Reference Platforms; navigate diverse third-party team priorities and  strategically  leverage  them  to  achieve  common  objectives;  and  run  monthly  governance sessions  with  Business  and  Engineering  leadership  of  various  groups  to  callout  key  achievements and learnings pointing out risks and dependencies. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

REQUIREMENTS:             Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and seven (7) years of experience leading the development on open source RDK middleware embedded system projects; using tools including Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Rally for software development projects; developing software using C, C++, Core Java, JavaScript and J2EE; performing CI/CD using Jenkins; developing software using Cloud Computing, Amazon Web Services, Python, and Shell for the design and development of applications, including middleware and the required cloud infrastructure; using RESTful API, SOAP API Web Services, XML and JSON; building automation using tools including Apache Maven and Apache Ant; of which five (5) years of experience includes using operating systems including Redhat, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, and Unix within a Linux environment; developing embedded systems using Cross Compilers and Toolchains; of which three (3) years of experience includes using TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS for network communication and design; and developing embedded system products including Set-Top Boxes, Smart Televisions, and Broadband Gateways that use RDK open source middleware and include automation of test cases.
