Role: Product Development Engineer
Location: Cookstown
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Hybrid: 2 days working from home
Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 DOE

The Job in a Nutshell:
Essentially, your job will be to design, develop, and continuously improve mechanical products within the materials handling and processing industry, contributing across the entire product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture.
You’ll enjoy a high degree of creative autonomy while working closely with a dynamic product development team.
You Will Be:
Designing and developing new products and product improvements using 3D CAD (Solid Edge preferred)
Creating detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and Design for Manufacture documentation
Carrying out engineering calculations to support design decisions
Supporting R&D activities and evaluating current and emerging technologies
Collaborating with manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Contributing to project planning and delivery against agreed timelines

You’ll have a strong chance if you bring:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design office creating 3D CAD models and drawings
Proven experience in draughting, BOM creation, and Design for Manufacture
Product improvement and R&D experience
Strong problem-solving skills and technical creativity
Experience / Qualifications:
Essential:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Edge highly desirable)
Experience producing engineering drawings and calculations
Desirable:
Master’s level engineering qualification
Hands-on FEA and/or CFD experience
Background in the materials handling or processing industry
Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexibly
