The Opportunity
A fast-paced and growing manufacturing business is seeking a highly organised Production Coordinator to take ownership of order planning and production alignment across multiple departments.
This is a pivotal role acting as the central link between Sales, Production, and Customers-ensuring orders are planned accurately, delivered on time, and communicated clearly throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Coordination
Plan and coordinate customer orders across multiple production schedules
Assign realistic delivery dates based on capacity, materials, and operational constraints
Balance workloads to optimise output and meet targets
Identify and resolve bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts
Production Alignment
Work closely with production teams to ensure plans reflect shop floor capability
Monitor output vs plan and adjust schedules as required
Proactively flag risks to delivery timelines and implement corrective actions
Order Accuracy & Handover
Ensure all planned jobs are handed over with accurate and complete information
Cross-check order details including materials, quantities, and specifications
Maintain consistency across planning and production systems
Customer Communication
Act as a key contact for customers regarding delivery updates
Manage expectations with clear and realistic timelines
Communicate delays or changes proactively and professionally
Systems & Planning Control
Maintain and update multiple planning tools (primarily Excel-based)
Ensure all schedules are aligned and reflect real-time changes
Track orders from planning through to production readiness
Problem Solving & Reactive Planning
Respond to urgent orders, delays, and material shortages
Re-plan efficiently to minimise disruption
Maintain control and visibility during periods of change
Materials & Capacity Coordination
Liaise with procurement to ensure material availability
Monitor capacity vs demand across departments
Support reporting on delivery performance and planning accuracy
About You
Proven experience in a production planning, scheduling, or coordination role
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning
Advanced Excel skills and confidence managing complex data
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Strong communicator, comfortable liaising with both internal teams and customers
Able to work at pace and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Proactive, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure
