<h1>Despatch Operative</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Location:</strong> Devizes, Wiltshire<br /><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> £15.14 per hour<br /><strong>Contract:</strong> Temporary – Initial 4-Month Contract<br /><strong>Hours:</strong> Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 | Friday 08:00–15:30</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">We are currently recruiting for an experienced Despatch Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment in Devizes on an initial 4-month temporary contract.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, packed, labelled and prepared for collection, while maintaining stock accuracy and high standards of quality and safety.</p>
<h2>The Role</h2>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>Pick customer orders accurately and to required deadlines.</li>
<li>Pack finished goods in line with customer-specific requirements.</li>
<li>Accurately label shipments, including export packaging.</li>
<li>Check and verify outgoing paperwork.</li>
<li>Coordinate courier and haulier collections and deliveries.</li>
<li>Receive, count and transfer finished stock into secure locations.</li>
<li>Carry out stock transfers from production cells.</li>
<li>Complete regular stock checks and assist with stock queries.</li>
<li>Monitor packaging stock levels and raise internal requests.</li>
<li>Operate a forklift truck to move stock and materials safely.</li>
<li>Raise non-conformance reports where required.</li>
<li>Carry out customer rework and apply flag labels.</li>
<li>Complete daily LPA audit questions.</li>
<li>Maintain good housekeeping and work to 5S principles.</li>
<li>Follow Health & Safety procedures and current working instructions.</li>
<li>Contribute to continuous improvement within the Despatch operation.</li>
</ul>
<h2>About You</h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Ideally, you’ll have:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>Previous experience in Despatch, Stores, Warehouse or Logistics, preferably within manufacturing.</li>
<li>Experience of picking and packing customer orders.</li>
<li>Stock counting and stock transfer experience.</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail, particularly with labelling and paperwork.</li>
<li>A current Forklift Truck Licence.</li>
<li>Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>The ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines.</li>
<li>A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.</li>
</ul>
