General Cover Teacher Leyland

About the role:

A Secondary Academy in Leyland is seeking a flexible and reliable General Cover Teacher to join their team.

This role is ideal for a confident teacher who can deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a variety of subjects at secondary level
• Maintain a calm, positive, and well‑managed classroom environment
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
• Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviour
• Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
• Confidence teaching across multiple subject areas
• Strong classroom management skills and adaptability
• Two education or school‑based references
