Primary Teaching Assistant – Swadlincote

About the role:

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Loughborough from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Support the delivery of engaging classroom activities and lessons.

 

 

• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.

 

 

• Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and displays.

 

 

• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

 

 

• Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence.

 

 

• Support children with additional learning needs where required.

 

 

• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

 

Pre-requisites:

 

• Previous experience working with children.

 

 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

 

• A patient, positive and supportive approach.

 

 

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

 

 

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
