<p>Candidate Requirements</p>
<p>A relevant planning qualification to degree level/ eligibility for RTPI membership, preferred.<br />
At least five years’ experience of working either as a planning professional within development company, planning consultancy or local planning authority, preferred.<br />
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferred.<br />
Proven track record in planning residential schemes, with a sound understanding of national and local planning policy, urban design, good placemaking principles and creating communities.<br />
Understanding of engineering, landscaping, ecological and heritage principles which will influence the delivery of projects.<br />
Experience of the production documents and relevant administrative tasks required for the submission and management of outline, reserved matters and full planning applications.<br />
Good knowledge of the Company’s operational area being Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, preferred.<br />
Ability to work as part of a team, drawing upon the knowledge of colleagues in a multi-disciplined environment.<br />
An ability to manage your individual workload and be self-motivated in order to meet agreed project timescales.<br />
The ability to recognise problems and devise solutions in an efficient, cost effective and speedy manner.<br />
Full driving licence required as work will require attendance at potential development sites<br />
Job responsibilities</p>
<p>Assist the Planning Manager with the planning review of new land acquisition opportunities.<br />
Submission of planning applications and related Town and Country Planning Act consent applications via the Planning Portal with inputs from the wider team in accord with key target dates.<br />
Assist the Planning Manager with delivering immediate and strategic land opportunities<br />
Produce accurate written work with consideration of planning policy, commercial factors, technical constraints and sales opportunities.<br />
Attend pre-application meetings and any other relevant meetings of engagement with local planning authorities.<br />
Co-ordinate and manage external consultants as appropriate, including planning consultants, heritage advisors, ecologists, landscape architects, and designers alongside the management of invoices, purchase orders, appointment documents for the necessary consultants.<br />
Contributing to negotiations of Section 106 planning obligations and planning conditions.<br />
Preparing relevant Community Infrastructure Levy submission documentation.<br />
Keeping up-to-date with planning policy and planning practice guidance particularly relating to large scale residential led development projects.<br />
Attend meetings and site visits with the public and local community representatives as required.<br />
