About the Role
Pages keep the library running from day-to-day by sorting and shelving books, processing returns, and handling delivery.
Pages primarily work independently but serve as part of the larger Circulation team. Their core job function is to process incoming books and make sure they get to the correct location on the shelf. Attention to detail and time management is a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for shelving library materials, checking in and sorting returned items, and processing delivery
Assists patrons in finding items and answering general library questions
Assists colleagues with special events and other projects as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to communicate well with others
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Ability and desire to work as part of a team
Ability to learn and navigate various pieces of software and online tools
Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts (including daytime, evening, and weekend hours) and flexibility to work extra hours as needed)
Regular and predictable attendance
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Raising or lowering an object from one level to another, to including reaching and repetitive tasks
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, push, pull, grasp, and bend repeatedly
