About the Role

<ul> <li><strong>Position: </strong>Finance Assistant</li> <li><strong>Salary: </strong>£13.85 &#8211; £14.36 an hour (part time) &#8211; £27,000 to £28,000 (full time)</li> <li><strong>Location:</strong> Brighton</li> <li><strong>Hours: </strong>25 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm or 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm</li> <li><strong>25 days&#8217; annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays, an additional day off for your birthday, free onsite parking, hybrid working, company events, employee shopping discounts, and much more</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p>We&#8217;re working with a well-established business seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a full time or part time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on accuracy, and wants to further develop their finance career within a collaborative and people-focused environment.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As a Finance Assistant, you&#8217;ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company procedures. You&#8217;ll work closely with colleagues across the business, helping to maintain smooth financial operations whilst contributing to the wider success of the organisation.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>As a Finance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Processing supplier invoices and credit card transactions accurately</li> <li>Assisting with journals, bank transactions, and maintaining accurate audit-ready records</li> <li>Supporting daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies</li> <li>Preparing and issuing sales invoices across multiple areas of the business</li> <li>Processing BACS payments, direct debits, and related reports</li> <li>Managing customer accounts and aged debtors, helping to maintain healthy cash flow</li> <li>Supporting month-end activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting</li> <li>Monitoring the finance inbox and responding to queries in a professional and timely manner</li> <li>Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve finance-related issues</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Requirements for the Finance Assistant:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience within a finance or accounts administration position</li> <li>Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills</li> <li>Excellent organisational and time management abilities</li> <li>Confident communication skills, both written and verbal</li> <li>The ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism</li> <li>A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving</li> <li>Experience using Sage 50 or similar accounting software would be advantageous</li> <li>A finance qualification or ongoing studies would be beneficial but not essential</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Salary, Hours &amp; Benefits:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>£13.85 &#8211; £14.36 an hour (part-time) or £27,000 &#8211; £28,000 (full time)</li> <li>25 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm or 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm</li> <li>Permanent position based in Brighton</li> <li>25 days (pro rata) annual leave + bank holidays + additional day off on your birthday</li> <li>Free onsite parking</li> <li>Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation (minimum two days per week in the office)</li> <li>Company events</li> <li>Shopping discounts</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Wild Recruitment Ltd T/A First Recruitment Services is acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.</p>
