About the Role
About the role: We are actively recruiting for an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant (SEMH) to join a school in the Melton Mowbray area on a full-time basis starting in September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes within a nurturing and supportive setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs (12+) Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies Support students both in lessons and during intervention sessions Build strong, trusting relationships with young people Work closely with teaching staff to implement support plans Pre-requisites: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs Experience working within an alternative provision or school setting is desirable Strong communication, resilience, and behaviour management skills Ability to build rapport and motivate students Provide two education/school based references from the last two years If you are interested in this role, please apply below:
