Learning Support Assistant - Leeds

About the role:

Justteachers is looking to appoint a committed Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive school in the Leeds area on a long-term basis.

This full-time role is set to begin in September, with the school currently shortlisting candidates. The setting prides itself on providing a supportive and engaging learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to succeed and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing in-class support to pupils to help them access learning across the curriculum
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence
• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN, to remain engaged and on task
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant experience in education, childcare, youth work or support roles
  • Experience working with children or young people in a classroom or similar setting
  • Good understanding of how to support pupils with differing learning needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Two recent education or school-based references
