The Role As an English Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH and SEN needs. Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning abilities and individual education plans (EHCPs). Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where pupils can succeed. Build strong relationships with students, encouraging confidence, resilience and a love of learning. Monitor progress, assess attainment and provide meaningful feedback. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider pastoral team. Promote positive behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approaches. What We're Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Experience teaching English at secondary level. A passion for supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. A flexible, patient and resilient approach.
