Assistant Headteacher - SEMH & SEND School Location: Glossop, derbyshire Salary: £38,000+ per annum (DOE) Contract: Permanent | Full-time | Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available Closing Date: DATE Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a Permanent Assistant Headteacher to join a specialist SEMH and SEND school . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, SENCO, or middle leader looking to progress within specialist education. The successful Assistant Headteacher will work closely with the senior leadership team to drive school improvement, support high-quality teaching and learning, strengthen safeguarding, and improve outcomes for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) . This role is ideal for a passionate school leader who wants to make a genuine difference within a nurturing, inclusive, and trauma-informed educational setting. Key Responsibilities Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school Drive improvements in teaching, learning, behaviour, attendance, and pupil achievement Lead and support teachers and support staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management Promote outstanding SEMH , SEND , and inclusive educational practice Support safeguarding across the school and contribute as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), where appropriate Monitor school performance data and implement strategies to improve outcomes Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers, local authorities, and external professionals Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed Requirements Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) Previous leadership experience within a UK school Experience working with pupils with SEMH , SEND , autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and sc...
