SEMH Teaching Assistant – Milton Keynes

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a specialist secondary provision in Milton Keynes. This full-time position starts in September 2026 and will continue until December 2026, with opportunities for extension. You will help students with social, emotional and mental health needs to access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build positive relationships with pupils
• Support behaviour management strategies
• Assist with classroom learning and intervention sessions
• Encourage emotional regulation and resilience
• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Calm and resilient attitude
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
• Two references within the last two years from a related field
