SEMH Secondary Science Teacher (Supply) – Nottinghamshire Location: Nottinghamshire Pay Rate: £180 - £240 per day (DOE) Contract: Supply | Long-Term | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available Start Date: ASAP / September 2026 Luma Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced SEMH Secondary Science Teacher to work within a specialist SEND school in Nottinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science Teacher with experience supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), SEND, ASD, ADHD, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Alternative Provision, or Special Educational Needs . The role involves delivering engaging and differentiated Science lessons to small classes of secondary-aged pupils, helping learners achieve both academically and personally within a supportive specialist setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging Science lessons at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE level) Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEMH and SEND needs Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour for learning Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Therapists and Senior Leaders Monitor progress and provide feedback in line with school expectations Promote pupil confidence, engagement and achievement Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent) Experience teaching Secondary Science Previous experience working within SEMH, SEND, Alternative Provision or specialist education settings desirable Strong classroom and behaviour management skills Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Why Apply?
