š¼ About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join a busy and growing finance team in Worcester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or sales ledger who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This role offers an immediate start with the opportunity to secure a permanent position after an initial trial period, making it ideal for candidates looking for long-term stability.
š What You'll Be Doing
Reconciling high volumes of incoming payments (approx. 4,000 transactions per month)
Matching cashbooks to bank statements and resolving discrepancies
Investigating variances and identifying root causes
Managing cash reconciliation across multiple depots (approx. 50+)
Handling over/underpayment queries and liaising with internal teams
Allocating payments and processing card payments
Importing/exporting financial data across internal systems
Supporting the wider finance team when required
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records

What We're Looking For
Experience in Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, sorting & filtering)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Confident working with high volumes of financial data
Experience with bank reconciliations and cash allocation
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration
ā Desirable Skills
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Cameo or similar)
Familiarity with payment platforms such as Elevon, PayPal, or Webpay

Own transport is essential due to location
Ability to work on-site in Worcester
