SEND Functional Skills Tutor Location: Leicestershire Rate: £125+ per day (DOE) Contract: Supply / Temporary | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available Start Date: ASAP / September 2026 Luma Education Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist education provider to recruit a dedicated and experienced SEND Functional Skills Tutor. This is an excellent opportunity to support young people with SEND, learning difficulties, autism, and additional needs by delivering engaging Functional Skills Maths and English lessons from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping learners develop essential literacy, numeracy, employability, and independence skills, preparing them for further education, employment, and adulthood. Key Responsibilities Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learner needs and EHCP outcomes Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment Support learners with SEND, learning difficulties, autism, and communication needs Assess learner progress and provide regular feedback Work collaboratively with support staff and wider multidisciplinary teams Promote learner independence, confidence, and personal development Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner reviews where required Requirements Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and English Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, autism, learning disabilities, or additional needs Teaching qualification desirable (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, PTLLS, AET, CET, DET or equivalent) Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills Ability to differentiate learning for a range of abilities and needs Excellent communication and organisational skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Benefits Competitive daily rate of £125+ per day Flexible supply opportunities to suit your availability Supportive and inclusi...
