Cover Supervisor – Primary SEMH School Location: Chigwell, Essex Pay: £110–£150 per day (DOE) Duration: Full-time | Long-term | Potential Temp-to-Perm Prospects Start: Immediate or September 2026 starts available Closing Date: 15 July 2026 Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a specialist primary SEMH setting in Chigwell. This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping to maintain engagement, structure and positive learning experiences throughout the school day. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers, Behaviour Mentors or graduates looking to progress within specialist education. Key Responsibilities: Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher Support pupils with SEMH needs to remain engaged and focused on learning Manage classroom behaviour using positive and consistent strategies Build strong relationships with pupils to promote confidence and emotional wellbeing Support learning across the primary curriculum Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a safe and structured environment Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, ASD or ADHD is desirable Confident leading classes and managing behaviour positively Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Benefits: Competitive daily pay (£110–£160 DOE) Weekly pay and efficient registration process Long-term opportunity with potential for a permanent position Access to CPD and specialist training Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement About Luma Education Recruitment Luma Education Recruitment specialises in SEN, SEMH and Alternative Provision recruitment across the UK.
