About the Role
SEN/ Behaviour Support Assistant Location: Harlow, Essex Pay: £95–£110/day (DOE) Duration: Full-time | Long-term | Temp-to-Perm opportunities Start: ASAP / Flexible Closing date for applications: 30th June 2026. Luma Education Recruitment are working with a specialist provision to recruit a resilient and committed SEN/ Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone confident managing behaviour, building strong relationships, and supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils with SEMH needs • Support pupils in managing behaviour, emotions, and engagement in learning • De-escalate challenging situations using appropriate behaviour strategies • Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual support plans • Act as a positive role model, promoting structure, consistency, and trust • Support reintegration into learning and improve attendance and engagement Requirements: • It will be an advantage to have experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in alternative provision • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner • Strong relationship-building skills and emotional resilience • Background in youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar desirable • TeamTeach, PRICE, or de-escalation training (desirable but not essential) • Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting Benefits: • Competitive daily rate (£95–£110) DOE with weekly pay • Long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement • Supportive school environments with structured behaviour policies • Ongoing CPD and behaviour management training • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement About Luma Education Recruitment Luma Education Recruitment...
