Job description Job Title: Director of Learning – Computer Science Location: Minster-on-Sea, Kent (Isle of Sheppey) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary Range: Pay: £30,000-£60,000 per year (DOE) Start Date: September 2026 Closing Date: 31st May 2026 About the Role The school is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Director of Learning – Computer Science to lead and develop their Computer Science department. This is an exc iting opportunity for an experienced Head of Department or a strong classroom teacher ready to take the next step into leadership. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the Computer Science department • Deliver high-quality teaching across KS3–KS5 (where applicable) • Drive curriculum development and innovation • Support and develop departmental staff • Monitor student progress and attainment, ensuring excellent outcomes Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Computer Science • Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level • Previous leadership experience (Head of Department desirable) or readiness to step up • Strong organisational and communication skills • Ability to commit to a full-time role About Luma Education Recruitment Luma Education Recruitment connects talented teachers and support staff with schools across the UK.
