<p><strong>Accounts Assistant– Permanent (Full Time)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Nottingham (Office Based)</strong><br /><strong>£27,000 – £32,000</strong></p>

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic business, working closely with an experienced Financial Controller who is passionate about mentoring and developing talent.<br /> We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Nottingham. This hands-on and varied role offers excellent exposure across multiple areas of finance, including credit control, bookkeeping, and management accounts.<br /> You will play a key role in supporting both the Finance Administrator and Financial Controller, gaining valuable, well-rounded experience across four companies. <p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p> You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, taking ownership of credit control processes while assisting with broader accounting responsibilities. Key duties include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Managing the full credit control process, including chasing outstanding debts via phone and email</li>
<li>Processing sales invoices and credit notes</li>
<li>Purchase invoice processing and supplier statement reconciliations</li>
<li>Performing multiple bank and credit card reconciliations</li>
<li>Maintaining daily cash flow forecasts</li>
<li>Producing key financial reports, including:
<ul>
<li>Aged Debtors & Aged Creditors</li>
<li>Weekly Sales Reports</li>
<li>Gross Margin analysis</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts for four companies</li>
<li>Preparing weekly and monthly payroll journals and posting to the nominal ledger</li>
<li>Completing nominal ledger reconciliations</li>
<li>Supporting general finance administration and providing holiday cover when required</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Previous experience within a finance role in an SME environment</li>
<li>Strong credit control and/or sales ledger experience</li>
<li>Confident and persistent when chasing payments and handling customer queries</li>
<li>Experience using Sage 50 Accounts</li>
<li>Intermediate Excel skills (including pivot tables and conditional formatting)</li>
<li>AAT qualified (or working towards) would be advantageous</li>
<li>Highly organised with strong attention to detail</li>
<li>Reliable, proactive, and willing to take on additional responsibility</li>
<li>Comfortable working to deadlines and managing a varied workload</li>
</ul>
