About the Role
About the role: Justteachers is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Support Assistant to join a supportive school in the Sheffield area on a long-term basis. This full-time role is due to commence September, with shortlisting currently underway. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on ensuring pupils with additional needs receive the individual support required to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND throughout the school day Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development in line with their individual needs Working closely with teachers, SEND staff, and external professionals to deliver tailored support strategies Pre-requisites: Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Support Assistant, or in a SEND-focused role Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs on a 1:1 basis A good understanding of SEND strategies, communication methods, and inclusive practice Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils Two education or school-based references
