About the Role
An enthusiastic and committed postdoctoral research associate is required to join the Arthritis UK Centre for Genetics and Genomics, based at the University of Manchester. You will work closely with a research team working on a MRC funded project which aims to characterize non-coding regions of the genome that confer risk to osteoarthritis (OA) using functional genomics, with the ultimate goal of identifying the genes that cause OA, the mechanisms by which OA-associated SNPs alter their target genes, and novel therapeutic targets. The post holder must hold a PhD and excellent knowledge of the genetics of OA and will be responsible for analysing, integrating and interpreting genomics and functional genomics datasets including Hi-C, CUT&RUN, ATAC-Seq and RNA-Seq, among others, alongside the generation of polygenic risk scores and functional annotation of genetic risk variants.
