About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to work on an ongoing supply basis in a specialist school setting, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in EYFS and KS1 . The role involves delivering highly personalised learning, promoting communication, independence and emotional regulation through structured, supportive teaching approaches. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with ASD Create structured, predictable learning environments that support regulation and engagement Use specialist strategies such as visual timetables, TEACCH approaches, PECS, Makaton and sensory integration techniques Work closely with Teaching Assistants to deploy support effectively Track pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews Implement behaviour support plans and positive handling strategies where required Liaise with therapists, SENCO and multi-disciplinary professionals Key Skills & Experience Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (essential) Proven experience teaching pupils with ASD and complex needs Experience in EYFS/KS1 and specialist or alternative provision settings (desirable) Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Calm, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching Requirements Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Right to work in the UK Ability to commit to ongoing supply where possible What We Offer Consistent, ongoing supply opportunities Competitive daily rates Support from a dedicated consultant Apply now
