About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide agency cover supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a specialist school setting. The role involves working closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils in EYFS and KS1, helping them access learning through tailored, child-centred approaches. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with ASD on a 1:1 and small group basis Assist in delivering adapted lessons and structured learning activities Support communication using visual aids, Makaton, PECS or similar strategies where required Help manage sensory needs and implement personalised behaviour support plans Encourage social, emotional and communication development Support pupils with personal care where required, in line with school policies Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and wider multi-disciplinary teams Key Skills & Experience Experience supporting children with ASD and complex needs (essential) Experience working in EYFS/KS1 or early years settings (desirable) Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and sensory integration approaches Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviours Strong communication and teamwork skills Requirements Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (desirable) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Right to work in the UK What We Offer Flexible agency work to suit your availability Opportunities to work in high-quality specialist settings Ongoing support from our dedicated agency team Apply now to join our team and make a positive impact on children's learning and development
