What you’ll do as a Software Consultant:
Consult with clients to learn about their software needs
Serve as a liaison between the clients and backend teams to ensure the custom software configurations meet client expectations
Design & Build application configurations and document / data organization structures to accomplish client goals
Update and maintain project service records within our CRM software
Demonstrate software solutions for the clients
Train end-users of varying degrees of skill level on legal technology software solutions

Inertia Legal, a document management & document security support company specializing in applied AI for law firms, is looking for a Software Consultant. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, training, and supporting law firms on legal technologies with which we partner. We are interested in someone who loves software and technology, communicates with compassion & patience, and has experience as a technical paralegal or IT background.
Our Ideal Software Consultant:
Experienced: A background working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Operations professional, or in an IT role such as IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, IT Analyst, or Systems Administrator is strongly preferred.
Excellent Computer Skills: Familiarity with document management systems like NetDocuments, iManage, or SharePoint. Experience with Practice Management, Time & Billing, or other legal software platforms is valued. Basic understanding of databases (SQL is a plus, but not required).
AI Aptitude: Experience building or experimenting with AI agents or automated workflows using platforms such as ChatGPT (custom GPTs, prompt engineering, workflow design), Microsoft Copilot, or Claude AI. Ability to create structured prompts, automation sequences, or AI-assisted document workflows.
Problem-Solver: Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills.
Customer-Service Oriented: Patient and professional when working with clients under stress. Able to communicate technical concepts clearly and confidently to non-technical users.
Presentation Skills: Comfortable leading software demonstrations and training sessions ranging from one-on-one instruction to large group settings.
Self-Starter: Fully engaged in the job, enjoys being challenged & learning new skills. Hardworking & motivated.
