About the role:
Justteachers is working with a secondary school in Trafford that is seeking a full time Sociology Teacher from September. This is a great opportunity for a motivated and knowledgeable teacher to join a supportive social sciences department in a well-established school environment.
Teaching Sociology across KS3 and KS4, support students in developing strong analytical and evaluative skills. The school offers a welcoming atmosphere, strong behaviour expectations, and a committed staff team focused on high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Sociology lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with curriculum requirements.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports progress for learners of all abilities.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow school policies consistently.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the social sciences team to support planning, progress, and wider school life.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Sociology in a UK secondary school or post-16 setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A passion for Sociology and the ability to inspire students to think critically about society, culture, and social issues.
- Two relevant references, ideally from educational settings.
