About the role:
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Swadlincote is looking to appoint a passionate and energetic Primary PE Teacher on a long-term supply basis commencing in September 2026.
The successful candidate will lead and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, encouraging pupils to develop a lifelong appreciation for sport, exercise and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress within PE.
- Organise and support school sports events and activities.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Encourage participation and confidence in physical activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within a primary school environment.
- Strong understanding of the Primary PE Curriculum.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
