Department Athletics, Volleyball-OPS Compensation $20.00 Hourly JOB DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Coach for a Division I volleyball program supports the head coach and other assistant coaches in all aspects of a highly competitive NCAA program. This role is designed for an early-career coach seeking experience at the highest collegiate level, with responsibilities spanning player development, scouting, recruiting support, and daily program operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and conducting team practices, including drills, skill development sessions, and position-specific training Provide individualized feedback and technical instruction to student-athletes Support match preparation by contributing to scouting reports, video breakdown, and opponent analysis Assist with on-campus recruiting logistics, including scheduling visits and coordinating communications (in accordance with NCAA rules) Help monitor academic progress and support the overall well-being of student-athletes Coordinate equipment setup, practice gym organization, and travel logistics as needed Participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and administrative planning Represent the program in a professional manner within the university and community Required Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred •Previous volleyball playing or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level •Strong knowledge of volleyball systems, techniques, and strategies •Familiarity with video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl, Volleymetrics) preferred •Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills •Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel •Commitment to NCAA compliance, academic integrity, and student-athlete development Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check.
