We’re currently recruiting a Distribution Centre Manager to lead our operation in Gotham – south of Nottingham – for our customer, British Gypsum. You’ll take overall accountability for all Distribution Centre activities, managing a team of Warehouse Shift Managers and Inventory personnel, driving performance across a growing and evolving operation. You’ll also work closely with the customer and the General Manager, acting as their key operational partner on site.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum plus car allowance. In addition, you’ll receive:

What you’ll do on a typical day:
Lead, coach and develop a team and be accountable for all operational XPO personnel on site
Drive the site’s QHSE culture, championing behavioural safety tools and ensuring compliance at all times
Take ownership for key performance areas including Stock Record Accuracy (SRA) and OTIF delivery, ensuring strong performance and continuous improvement
Champion standardised process execution, ensuring the right reporting cadence and accurate, timely operational information
Undertake robust root cause analysis on any performance shortfalls, ensuring corrective actions are communicated clearly and followed through
Manage and complete all HR-related processes (including investigations, reviews, performance management, and absence management) in line with XPO standards
Build and maintain strong relationships with on-site customer contacts, acting as a key stakeholder for operational updates and performance reviews
Lead the day-to-day warehouse, ensuring customer products are moved efficiently and accurately
Monitor and optimise processes to maintain and improve standards to recognised industry levels
Support the wider logistics network and cover for the General Manager during periods of absence
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Previous experience leading a warehouse operation, with safety at the core of your leadership style
National CPC – Desirable
Strong people-management experience, including coaching teams, driving accountability, and completing HR processes
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive customer relationships
Strong administration, organisational and IT skills
Ideally a Health & Safety qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH) but not essential
Experience with 5S, Six Sigma or Lean methodologies is highly advantageous
