Night Shift Supervisor<br><strong>Location:</strong> Birmingham <br><strong>Job Type:</strong> Permanent, Full-Time<br><strong>Working Hours:</strong> Night Shift 11pm - 8am <br><br>About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on Night Shift Supervisor to join our busy and fast-paced operation in Birmingham. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will play a key role in supervising the night shift, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting the wider team.<br><br>This role is ideal for someone with previous pallet network experience who is looking to develop their leadership skills, with the opportunity to progress into a Shift Manager position over time.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day running of the night shift.<br><br></li><ul><li>Supervise warehouse and operational staff to ensure productivity and service standards are met.<br><br></li><li>Ensure freight is handled safely, accurately, and within network deadlines.<br><br></li><li>Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) where required.<br><br></li><li>Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety procedures.<br><br></li><li>Use warehouse and transport management systems accurately and effectively.<br><br></li><li>Assist with staff training, performance, and operational support.<br><br></li><li>Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption.<br><br></li><li>Promote a positive, safety-first culture across the team.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Essential Requirements<ul><li>Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or transport operation.<br><br></li><ul><li>Ideally, previous experience working within a pallet network environment.<br><br></li><li>Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.<br><br></li><li>Good understanding of warehouse or transport management systems.<br><br></li><li>Strong organisational and communication skills.<br><br></li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.<br><br></li><li>A hands-on approach with a commitment to high standards of health and safety.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Desirable Skills<ul><li>Experience leading or mentoring warehouse teams.<br><br></li><ul><li>Knowledge of pallet network processes and KPIs.<br><br></li><li>Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Training and DevelopmentAdditional training will be provided where necessary for the right candidate.
