<p><strong>Practice Overview</strong><br />
This opportunity is with a state-of-the-art veterinary practice in the Essex area, part of a collaborative network of four sites. The branch has recently reopened in a modern facility with five consult rooms, surgery, x-ray, and in-house laboratory services. The wider network includes day and night vets, with certificate holders in ophthalmology, dermatology, internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, and small animal surgery, offering a highly supportive environment for case discussion, mentorship, and professional growth.</p>
<p><strong>Role Overview</strong><br />
The role is suited to a veterinary surgeon holding a certificate in surgery, ideally with confidence in advanced soft tissue procedures and basic fracture repairs. The candidate will join a 3 vet team, generating their own cases and running clinics with a bias toward orthopaedic care. Weekend cover is minimal (1 in 10 on-call), and there are no out-of-hours responsibilities. Full-time hours are standard (40 hours per week), with flexibility for 4 or 5-day weeks.</p>

<p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p>

<li>RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
<li>Certificate in small animal surgery
<li>Confidence performing soft tissue surgeries, basic fracture repairs, and cruciate repair
<li>Comfortable managing both surgical and some consulting duties
<li>Collaborative approach, with a willingness to support and mentor less experienced colleagues
