Bigger space, stronger capabilities, and a grand party piece for the opening: an inflatable Wärtsilä 34SG. 👀💙 With nearly double the room, the new workshop helps us support offshore, marine and energy customers across the North Sea – now and into the future – while giving our teams a safer, more collaborative place to work. 📸 Sander Dekkers & Precy Lou Ricafrente #Services #MarineInnovation #EnergyTransition 2 DAYS AGO Read more Wärtsilä Corporation Foton från Wärtsilä Corporations inlägg International Women’s Day 2026 reminds us of a beautiful truth: Generosity fuels empowerment. Support creates opportunity. And when we Give, we Gain. 🌸 As part of this year’s celebration, our Wärtsilä team in Lagos visited a government secondary school, where we connected with young girls and encouraged them to believe in themselves, stay healthy, and chase their dreams with courage and joy. This reflects an important part of our culture at Wärtsilä - supporting people, creating equal opportunities, and contributing to stronger communities. Because when women thrive, communities rise, and so does our collective future. 💙 Photo credit: Oluwakemi Fasinu #Nigeria #IWD2026 #GiveToGain #FuelYourPower 3 DAYS AGO Read more wartsilacorp Crisis communications: Where trust is built under pressure Minna Sundelin works as Crisis Communications Lead in Wärtsilä’s External Communications team, helping protect the company’s reputation when it matters most. 🧭 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 Her work focuses on supporting teams when complex issues emerge, navigating fast‑moving developments with clear, responsible, and timely communication. Measuring them accurately is another. The #METECH project brings together leading research organisations and industry partners to develop advanced emission measurement technologies that work in real-world conditions across energy, maritime, aviation and NRMM, helping ensure new fuels and low-emission solutions meet today’s regulations and tomorrow’s climate goals. This collaboration supports cleaner air, smarter regulation and more competitive low-emission solutions.  "Accurate measurement methods are vital for developing low-emission engines and effective exhaust aftertreatment systems. METECH unites broad expertise from research and industry. The project's results can be utilised in Wärtsilä’s engine and aftertreatment development work," says Kenneth Widell, Wärtsilä’s General Manager in Research Coordination and Funding. Trusted data, real-world validation and industry research collaboration are essential to turning decarbonisation ambition into impact.    Read more in our latest article: https://lnkd.in/dYQcDRVt   METECH is part of the WISE initiative. Disruptions can move rapidly through global fuel markets, impacting economies, industries and households.   At the same time, the shift toward a cleaner energy future continues to accelerate: ⚡ Electrification is expanding 🌱 Renewables are scaling 📈 Digitalisation is driving unprecedented demand for reliable power   The challenge now is designing power systems that can navigate both objectives at once: accelerating decarbonisation while maintaining stability, affordability and security of supply.   Achieving this requires more than simply adding renewable capacity. It means building power systems that integrate renewables with the flexibility and resilience needed to balance variability and ensure reliability in all conditions.   At Wärtsilä Energy, we are committed to enabling this shift through the flexible, future‑ready solutions that will underpin a resilient, net‑zero future.   #ChathamHouse #EnergySecurity #EnergyTransition #Flexibility #Resilience 2 DAYS AGO Read more Wärtsilä ❄️ Ice damaged your propeller? Data centre providers need power solutions that are available fast, with extremely high reliability and flexibility. At the same time, we need to make sure that fuel and water use are kept to a minimum - and that the growing power demand does not end up meaning higher energy bills for consumers.    This challenge was highlighted when Wärtsilä President and CEO Håkan Agnevall spoke to CNBC Squawk Box Europe about this month's pledge signed in the US by major technology companies to provide their own power generation for data centres.   At Wärtsilä, we see a clear role for off‑grid power generation for data centres, to ensure reliability without impacting consumer electricity bills. And Wärtsilä's engine solutions use up to 2,000 times less water and significantly less fuel than competing turbine technology - factors that make a real difference to our customers' environmental impact.   Håkan also talked about how the decarbonisation transition is continuing to advance: Renewables, stabilised by balancing power, are key to the transition, and 2025 is expected to have been a record year for the installation of renewables, including in the US, because wind and solar are simply the cheapest forms of energy in many parts of the world.    At Wärtsilä, we are focused on helping our customers navigate the decarbonisation transition in a way that is not only environmentally sustainable but financially viable too.    Watch the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/gFxhrVPZ   #DataCenters #EnergyTransition #EnergyResilience #Decarbonisation 3 DAYS AGO Read more wartsilavoice Join us for one of the most anticipated events of EnergyWeek: the Energy Academy Back to the Future Roast! Her work focuses on supporting teams when complex issues emerge or situations escalate, helping the organisation navigate fast-moving developments with clear, responsible, and timely communication. It’s a role defined by collaboration, sound judgement, and trust, often under significant time pressure. What Minna finds most energising is the teamwork. Crisis communications bring together experts from across the organisation, often working with limited information and rapidly shifting priorities. “I enjoy the challenge, the variety, and the teamwork involved, and  at times also the intensity that comes with fast-moving situations.” No two cases are the same, and decisions must be made quickly, responsibly, and with long-term impact in mind. Minna was drawn to this role not only by the professional challenge but by Wärtsilä itself. The company’s ambition to support the decarbonisation of marine and energy strongly resonated with her, as did Wärtsilä’s reputation and purpose. She wanted to work in an environment where communications play a meaningful, strategic role in supporting responsible business. Earlier in her career, Minna worked in environments under intense public scrutiny. These experiences have reinforced the importance of preparation, clarity, and sound judgement when navigating crisis situations. Trust is often built under pressure. In complex crisis situations, identifying the right course of action requires open dialogue and close cooperation across the organisation. “Experiences like this have helped me grow professionally,” Minna says. “Being part of a team that shares responsibility and stands behind its decisions strengthens judgment and builds confidence. For Minna, those moments underline what truly matters in crisis communications: openness, trust, collaboration, and mutual support. They’re not nice-to-haves, they are essentials.
