<p><strong>Head Veterinary Nurse</strong><br />
From £34,000 per annum OTE £42,000K<br />
Full-time (approx. 39–40 hours per week)<br />
1 in 4 weekend rota</p>
<p>A brand new veterinary practice is opening, creating an opportunity for an experienced Head Nurse to build and lead a nursing team from the ground up.</p>
<p>This role offers the chance to shape how nursing is delivered within a practice environment, not simply maintain existing systems, but design and implement them. You will play a key role in setting clinical standards, developing team capability, and ensuring nursing skills are fully utilised and recognised.</p>
<p>As Head Nurse, you will oversee the nursing function within the practice, ensuring high standards of patient care, efficient day-to-day operations, and a supportive, collaborative team culture.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, mentor and develop the nursing team
<li>Deliver and maintain high standards of patient care and client experience
<li>Oversee nurse-led clinics, inpatient care and theatre protocols
<li>Maximise utilisation of nursing skills, including Schedule 3 procedures
<li>Support student nurses and contribute to clinical coaching
<li>Help establish team culture and operational workflows
</ul>
<p>This is a leadership role with both clinical and operational influence.</p>
<p><strong>Working pattern:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Full-time rota including evenings and weekends (typically 4 x 9-hour days)
<li>1 in 4 weekend rotation
<li>Average 39-hour working week
<li>Participation in duty nurse nights (accommodation provided where required)
<li>Flexible working options may be considered
