Your role:
As a Data Engineer / Technical Lead you'll set the direction for Data Engineering and build the data foundations to help the company scale as they build v2 of the product. You'll have a broad scope across the data lifecycle including ingestion, transformation and modelling, serving and ensuring data is accessible and usable.
You'll build and improve trusted, self-serve data capabilities for internal teams and product use cases, with clear ownership and governance, partner with Data Science and Platform teams, and collaborate across Engineering and the wider business to deliver secure, well-operated data systems whilst reducing operational overheads and improving maintainability and reliability by strengthening standards, simplifying patterns and reducing operational overhead.
Location / WFH:
There's a flexible hybrid work from home policy with two days a week in the Shoreditch office where you can enjoy a diverse and supportive team culture.
About you:
You're a hands-on technical leader with a focus on Data Engineering
You have experience of building and operating data platforms in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
You have strong foundations in data modelling, transformation and orchestration
You have a pragmatic approach to architecture decisions, balancing long-term thinking with delivery needs, whilst seeking continual improvement of data quality, discoverability and usability across an organisation
You're a trusted Data Engineering leader, comfortable building relationships across teams and with non-technical stakeholders
You're collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills
