Registered Nurse - Neuro Stepdown (SDU)
Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Start Date: 08-13-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (specific shift times not specified)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for neuro stepdown patients with complex conditions
- Monitor neurological status, vitals, and response to interventions with precision
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery expectations
- Document patient progress thoroughly and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Louisiana
- BLS certification required
- Previous neuro stepdown, critical care, or telemetry experience preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and unit needs
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in neuro assessment and stroke protocols
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and interpreting rhythms
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Excellent documentation and EHR navigation skills
