About the Role
About the role: justteachers are working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Leeds who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join them from September on a long-term supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a patient, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people’s learning, confidence and development within a secondary school environment. Key Responsibilities: Supporting pupils across the secondary age range within the classroom Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH or EAL where required Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and engagement in learning Working closely with teaching staff, SEN staff and pastoral teams to support pupil progress and wellbeing Pre-requisites: Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils Be confident supporting pupils in a classroom or small-group setting Have a calm, patient and resilient approach Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or have equivalent experience Be able to provide two education or school-based references
