About the role:
justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive SEN primary school in Rugby to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a full-time role starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to children with additional needs during the early stages of their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist children with communication, social interaction and emotional development.
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Encourage independence while ensuring pupils feel safe and supported.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCO.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in an educational or care setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of autism, speech and language needs or developmental delays is beneficial.
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting young children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
