About the Role
Server Engineer – 3 Month Initial Contract (Fully On-Site, Suffolk)
We are currently seeking an experienced Server Engineer for an initial 3-month contract supporting a major global life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation at their Suffolk site.
You will be joining a leading international IT services provider delivering infrastructure support and migration services for a large-scale environment as part of a critical infrastructure transition programme.
This is a fully on-site role (5 days per week) and would suit an engineer comfortable working in enterprise environments, delivering server builds, migrations, and infrastructure support during a period of transformation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeployment and configuration of Windows Server environments
Support and management of file shares and print servers
Delivery and support of core Windows Server roles and services
Assist with VMware infrastructure activities, including supporting the migration of management systems
Participate in Windows Server domain migration activities
Support infrastructure changes related to storage and virtualisation platforms
Work closely with wider infrastructure and project teams to deliver migration and deployment tasks
Maintain system stability, documentation, and operational standards
Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience with Windows Server deployment and administration
Experience managing file services and print server infrastructure
Solid VMware experience (vSphere / virtual infrastructure management)
Experience supporting Active Directory / Windows domain migrations
Ability to work on-site within a structured enterprise environment
Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure support skills
Desirable ExperienceExperience with NetApp storage platforms
Exposure to enterprise infrastructure migration projects
Familiarity with regulated or manufacturing environments such as pharmaceuticals or life sciences
