Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant Role:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
Supporting the pupil to engage in classroom activities and routines
Managing behaviours that challenge using calm and consistent approaches
Working closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies
Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
The Ideal 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant Will:
Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
Be confident managing behaviours that challenge
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong communication skills
Be calm, consistent, and proactive in approach
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
Have a fully checkable work history
