About the Role

We are looking to fill <span><span><span>a position of Principal Engineer in a role of application supporting engineering on the SETS II contract at DHS HQ St. Elizabeths campus. The successful candidate will work with a team of professional engineers supporting operations at the USCG HQ facility and DHS HQ in telecommunications, systems monitoring, issue resolution, installation and upgrading of advanced information systems. <br /> <strong>Requirements:<br /> The following are essential for success:</strong></span></span></span><br /> <span><span><span>Proven IT experience of 5+ years with bachelor's degree or 8+ years with certifications and experience in several of the following areas:</span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span>Proven experience with ServiceNow operational capabilities</span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span>Incident management</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Ability to create required reports.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Knowledge of several key SNOW modules: Assets, CMDB, KM</span></span></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><span><span>Experience working with data models distilling information into categories for use in data systems. </span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Experience with Web Services and REST architecture.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Scripting skills in one or more of the following: MRL, PERL, JSON, Python, Groovy, JavaScript, etc.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Systems monitoring with SNMP, BMC Software, log analytics, WMI, WinRM and scripting languages.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Event management and processing through email, SNMP, and agent-based sources on multiple monitoring platforms.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Programming skills in production environments using change revision software such as GitLab/GitHub to maintain version controls.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Web Server administration</span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span>Configuration and administration of Apache on Windows and Linux</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Configuration and administration of Microsoft IIS</span></span></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><span><span>Proven knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration in an enterprise environment</span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span>Proven knowledge on upgrade and patching processes best practices</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Proven troubleshooting skills</span></span></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><span><span>Proven ability to create and/or customize dashboards across several platforms such as:</span></span></span> <ul> <li><span><span><span>BMC</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>DX Spectrum</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Splunk/Splunk Enterprise</span></span></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><span><span>Security certificate PKI Certificate management</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>ITIL v3</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>Understanding of security controls used in the Federal government.</span></span></span></li> </ul> <strong>Desired Skills:</strong> <ul> <li><span><span><span>Bachelor's degree in a STEM area of study.</span></span></span></li> <li><span><span><span>ITIL v4 and ITSM methodologies.</span></span></span></li> </ul> <br />
