About the Role

Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: NICU Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 36 Summary: The NICU Occupational Therapist evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with the following disorders: neurological, musculoskeletal, genetic, neuromuscular, fine motor, sensorimotor, visual motor/visual perceptual and developmental delay as well as traumatic injuries, swallowing disorders, and those at risk for developmental delay secondary to severe prematurity. This person provides consultation and programming including patient and caregiver education. This person is responsible for overseeing developmental care of all babies in the NICU, staff and family education/training, referrals and consultations to outside agencies, documentation, participation in weekly NICU rounds, facilitating and planning the Developmental Care Committee, and computer input of all charges. The Occupational Therapist will deliver care with a team-orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
