About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven Senior Commercial Creative to join DMG New Media and lead the development of high-impact branded social content.
DMG New Media is a new social publisher, reaching over 150 million followers across news, entertainment, sport, and culture. As we scale, commercial storytelling will be central to our growth.
This role is focused on translating commercial briefs into standout, platform-native creative. Developing bespoke ideas or adapting established formats to deliver measurable results for clients. You will own the creative response from ideation through to scripting and storyboarding along with working closely with production & social to ensure smooth delivery of campaigns.
The ideal candidate combines sharp creative instincts with commercial intelligence: someone who understands client objectives, audience behaviour, and how to turn both into compelling social-first storytelling that performs.
Main Responsibilities
Lead creative responses to commercial and branded content briefs, translating objectives into distinctive, premium social ideas.
Develop bespoke campaign concepts or intelligently adapt existing high-performing formats to meet brand goals.
Own the creative process: ideation, scripting, storyboarding and creative direction in collaboration with our brand teams.
Ensure all commercial work feels editorially credible while delivering an impact for partners.
Collaborate closely with sales, strategy, production, and design teams to deliver seamless campaign execution.
Use platform data, trends, and audience insight to inform creative decisions.
Champion a test-and-learn mindset within branded content, continuously refining ideas based on results.
Maintain expert-level knowledge platform changes on TikTok and Instagram.
Candidate Profile & Essential Skills
Experience: Proven track record (5+ years preferred) in a Creative Strategy or Creative Lead role within a major media publisher, social platform, or leading digital/creative agency.
Social Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of TikTok and Instagram with a portfolio showcasing high-performing short-form video content aimed at Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to turn ideas into engaging, editorially led social storytelling that resonates with audiences and strengthens brand positioning.
Storytelling & Vision: Strong editorial instincts and a passion for news, entertainment, culture, and sport. A visionary storyteller who can craft compelling narratives in quick, social-native formats.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate creative ideas clearly and work effectively across editorial, production, and design teams.
