Our client is a Danish company developing an all-in-one platform for a safe and easy life on the water.
Whether you are a sailor, paddler, diver, or someone who simply loves the sea, the platform offers essential features designed to meet your needs: call coastal rescue, share live locations, track your trips, and interact with your sailing club — all in one place. The platform brings together the best maritime partners to create a user-friendly and accessible community, making users’ time on the water safer and easier. The system consists of a cross-platform mobile app and a web application, powered by a Supabase backend. The mobile app serves as a handy tool for those at sea, while communities, partners, managers, and administrators use the web application.
To support our growth, we are looking for an enthusiast who shares our passion for innovation and the sea! We're looking for an engineer who not only brings strong technical skills but also a systems-thinking mindset.
Our small team currently consists of two backend engineers, one mobile engineer, and a QA engineer. You will be joining as a primary mobile engineer, with occasional assignments to backend when needed, thus, we consider it a fullstack role.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software.
- Collaborate closely with a small, committed team - we are looking for a team member, not just a programmer.
- Take initiative - we value curiosity, maturity, and proactive problem-solving, including a willingness to jump in and help out on the backend when needed.
We value someone who:
- Thinks in terms of systems and understands how different components of a platform work together (mobile app, web, and backend).
- Has an eye for clean architecture and scalable design.
- Enjoys creating intuitive, reliable tools that support both internal users and public-facing audiences.
- Understands that good UX and backend reliability are equally important to user satisfaction.
Required experience and tech skills:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Dart, Flutter, Riverpod
- Good knowledge of RESTful APIs and the ability to extend and maintain API endpoints on the backend
- Comfortable assisting with backend tasks, mostly by extending Supabase Edge Functions (TypeScript). Ideally also Nest.js, Nuxt API.
- Understanding of performance optimization, caching, and local data storage
- Experience working with maps (we use Mapbox) is a big plus
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (we run on Cloudflare / Google Cloud Run)
- Experience in building and deploying apps to Google Play and Apple App Store
- Experience using AI prompting effectively (we use Cursor).
Other requirements:
- Good grasp of software development best practices — architecture, security, scalability.
- Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- Full proficiency in English, for daily work with teammates and managers in Denmark.
