Our Stories From Christmas colleague to future Store Manager From Christmas temp to future leader Showing up and being seen: Luciana’s journey at M&S Our customers don't wait. You’ll be ready to roll your sleeves up, work hard and go above and beyond every day. Ready for it? Take your Marks. Be the face of M&S and every customer’s first port of call. You’ll be on the floor exciting customers with your passion for products, and making recommendations they’re sure to love. We’re transforming every aspect of what we do and how we do it. That means we need dynamic leaders ready to run our teams and stores and make our big plans a reality. Our stores are always changing to give customers exactly what they want and how they want it. Our Visual Merchandisers drive that, making sure customers have a seamless experience in-store. Allow yourself around 45 minutes to complete the application. What you will need: - All of your personal details including National Insurance Number. - Your right to work documentation. - Time to complete our online assessment. - Your availability over the coming days or weeks to select an interview slot. Your interview will be based in one of our stores and will give you the opportunity to decide if M&S is the right match for you, as well as allowing our managers to get to know you better. If you have seen a number of roles in the same store that are of interest, you don’t need to apply and book an interview for each one. Please discuss these roles as part of your interview with the interviewing manager to agree which is right for you. If you have had an unsuccessful application for a similar role in the past 6 months, we do ask that you wait until the 6 months period has passed before applying again. The working pattern for each role can be found at the top of the job advert. These are indicative shift patterns and may change depending on the needs of the store. Before you apply, please familiarise yourself with the In-Store page to get a feel for what the role may entail. As part of the application process, you will be asked if you require any reasonable adjustments to support you. Please share as much information as you can to allow us to give you the best possible recruitment experience. Whilst we make every effort to interview as many candidates as we can, we receive a high volume of applications so this isn’t always possible. If there aren’t any interview slots available, please continue to check back on your application as we’ll be adding more slots as often as we can. Alternatively, you can apply for another role that may be suited to you. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to complete your application again. Our systems will recognise that you have already done this. If you have secured an interview slot but can no longer attend, please use the cancellation option on your invite. If you wish to reschedule, please be aware that, due to high demand for our roles, we can’t guarantee you a new slot. Once you start an M&S application, you’ll find the contact details for your Recruiter in your email from us. All queries about the status of your application should be directed to this email address. - #In Store - #Early Careers - #Career Development We spoke to Retail Graduate, Oliver Heath about how a fixed-term festive job at M&S led to big career plans, and why he thinks starting as a temporary Customer Assistant is a great way to get your foot in the door. - #In Store - #Early Careers - #Career Development We spoke to Lily Rendell about how a temporary Christmas job at M&S turned into the start of a career in retail that she never expected and why she believes there’s real opportunity at M&S for anyone who’s willing to work for it. - #In Store - #Inclusion & Diversity As part of our Pride Month series, we spoke to Luciana Magalhães, a Hospitality Manager in our Marble Arch store.
