About the Role
<p><strong>Salary:</strong> £80,000 – £85,000 per annum<br /><strong>Location:</strong> London (Hybrid Working)<br /><strong>Contract:</strong> Permanent, Full Time</p>
<p> You’ll lead the day to day finance operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and efficient transactional finance processes. You’ll also drive continuous improvement, optimise finance systems and develop a high performing team capable of supporting the charity’s strategic ambitions.</p>
<p> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the day-to-day operation of the finance function, ensuring efficient, accurate and customer-focused financial services.</li>
<li>Oversee all financial operations, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Record-to-Report (R2R), payroll, treasury, VAT and corporate tax.</li>
<li>Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.</li>
<li>Maintain a robust financial control environment and ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.</li>
<li>Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax legislation and financial regulations.</li>
<li>Manage cash flow, treasury activities and banking relationships, producing accurate cash flow forecasts and optimising liquidity.</li>
<li>Lead VAT and corporate tax compliance, ensuring accurate submissions and providing technical guidance where required.</li>
<li>Act as the business owner for the finance system, driving optimisation, automation and continuous process improvement.</li>
<li>Develop and implement finance policies, procedures and internal control frameworks to strengthen governance and minimise risk.</li>
<li>Drive improvements across transactional finance through automation, standardisation and enhanced management information.</li>
<li>Lead, coach and develop the Financial Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure finance operates as a trusted business partner across the organisation.</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>Experience Required: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).</li>
<li>Significant experience leading a financial control or financial operations function.</li>
<li>Extensive experience managing month-end and year-end reporting, statutory accounts and external audits.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of financial controls, governance and internal control frameworks.</li>
<li>Experience overseeing Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report processes.</li>
<li>Experience managing treasury, cash flow, payroll, VAT and corporate taxation.</li>
<li>Experience implementing or optimising ERP finance systems and driving finance transformation.</li>
<li>Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.</li>
<li>Experience working in the not-for-profit (NFP) sector at “Head of” level.</li>
<li>A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement, automation and delivering operational excellence.</li>
