About the Role

Quantity Surveyor 3 days on-site in Wokingham and/or Hoddesdon Up to £65,000 (Depending on experience)Ready to step up? We're looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to take on a high-impact commercial role with a leading highways contractor. Whether you're an experienced Project QS or an Assistant QS with 3 years under your belt looking for that next challenge, this could be your opportunity to shine. The Opportunity Join the HTMC contract team as the commercial lead on site, where you'll work closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance and build lasting relationships. With flexible site locations between Wokingham and Hoddesdon (3 days per week on-site), you'll have the autonomy to manage your own commercial remit while being supported by an experienced Commercial Manager and Project Manager. This role offers genuine progression for Assistant Quantity Surveyors ready to take ownership of their own contracts. We're looking for someone with: A Quantity Surveying qualification and 3+ years' experience in construction Highways maintenance experience is advantageous, but we're equally interested in candidates from civils, infrastructure, or rail backgrounds Strong CVR management skills-you know how to track costs, forecast accurately, and keep commercial performance on track The ambition to step up and take on greater responsibility What You'll Do Own the Commercial Function Lead contract variations, valuations, and dispute resolution Conduct on-site measures and manage Causeway/client works order systems Compile AFPs, track certifications, and maintain healthy cash flow Prepare robust monthly CVR reports and forecasts-this is crucial to the role Build and Manage Subcontractor Relationships Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractors to deliver value Process payments, resolve disputes, and foster strong supply chain partnerships Ensure compliance and maintain positive working relationships Drive Financial Performance Monitor transaction reports and ensure accurate cost allocation Manage accruals, reconciliations, and WIP reporting Deliver contract KPIs and client financial reports on time Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans What You Bring QS qualification and 3+ years' site-based experience (highways highly advantageous but not essential) Hands-on experience with on-site measures and commercial management Working knowledge of NEC contracts Competent with Causeway or similar commercial systems Excellent CVR management-you understand cost control and forecasting Strong communicator who builds trust and delivers results Why Join?
