These are primarily open to individuals who are in education, from high school age to university, who want to gain firsthand experience of what it is like to work in a dental practice prior to pursuing a career in dentistry.

Dental work experience opportunities for university students

We offer in practice work experience opportunities specifically for university dental students, who may have only experienced working in a hospital environment. These work experience placements are typically organised over Easter and throughout the summer months. These placements typically run over the period of three days and are organised so that students gain an insight into working in primary care and at mydentist.

Our partner Springpod offer “virtual to reality" programmes, enabling prospective candidates to experience a career as a dentist, other type of clinician, dental nurse, manager or practice support team member.

This virtual dental work experience opportunity will allow you to learn more about the roles at mydentist before making choices within education, the programme will equip you with valuable knowledge and an understanding of the skills needed.

What does virtual dental work experience look like at mydentist?

Our dental work experience programme should take approximately 10 hours. You'll have two weeks to complete the programme, however, when and where you complete the programme is entirely up to you!

As Springpod specialises in virtual work experience opportunities you can be as flexible as you like with your work experience – even those with busy schedules gain valuable exposure to the field of dentistry.

What does a virtual dental work experience programme offer?

• A flexible dental work experience opportunity that fits around your schedule and can be accessed from home.
• The programme is developed by mydentist, with content from self-employed clinicians and mydentist employees from a variety of roles across mydentist.
• Interactive modules that include activities and quizzes, designed to give you a feel for the world of dentistry and develop valuable workplace skills.
